Freshen your car without
jeopardizing your health

Sometimes your car can get just a little funky smelling. It’s okay, that’s normal, it happens to everyone. Unfortunately, for many people the answer is to throw in a car freshener of some kind.

You know, the ones the car wash tries to hang on your rearview mirror.

Those are filled with fragrances and perfumes that can create a toxic environment in your car. And the last thing you want to do is to be hotboxing health hazard ingredients.

You don’t need all those chemicals in your car. Skip the toxins!

This is a perfect time to do a simple DIY and freshen your car without jeopardizing your health.

Quick and easy ways to make your car smell better than ever

  • If you really really want one of those tree things…buy a felt tree cutout at the craft store (or make your own). Add 2-3 drops of your favorite essential oil blend. Punch a small hole in the top, add thread, and hang it up on your mirror.
  • Take a cotton ball and add 2-3 drops of your favorite essential oil blend. Place the cotton ball into the air conditioner vent (in the front please, we don’t want the kiddies playing with it).. As airflow goes over the cotton ball it will help freshen the car.
  • Add 2-3 drops of your favorite essential oil blend to a wooden clothespin. Clip it onto the air conditioner vent (again, in the front to keep it away from the kiddos).

The best part about making your own car fresheners is that when the scent eventually begins to fade you can add a couple drops more and you’re good to go! Or you can change to a completely different scent.

Just be sure to skip the chemical perfumes and fragrances.

It’s your car, you should be in charge of everything. Including the air.
